Heather Parker - English Lake District Author

Welcome to my website.
I live in the English Lake District with a collection of cats, dogs and a husband. Until recently I worked for the University of Cumbria but now write freelance. I have won prizes in several literary competitions, including The Benjamin Franklin House 2009 Literary Prize, in association with The Daily Telegraph. Many of my stories have been published in popular magazines including The People's Friend, The Weekly News, Space and Time and The New Writer. My stories also appear in anthologies including the Out of Line Peace and Justice Anthology, Hoi Polloi 111 Literary Journal, Sunpenny Publishing, Bridge House Publishing, The Absent Willow Review Anthologies, Little Sisters Mystery Anthology, 50 Stories for Pakistan and Stories for Sendai.
My first novel Middlewitch and the sequel Middlewitch Mayhem were published by Drollerie Press in 2009 and 2011. Unfortunately these are unavailable at present due to publishing problems caused by illness. Hopefully they will be re-published in the near future.
My mini-mystery, A Quiet Place in the Country, is published by Wild Child Publishing and is also available from most online bookstores.
Please feel free to browse my website, read a selection of stories and excerpts, look at my photo album, or contact me with any enquiries.
