About Chris - Illustrator

Most of my life has been spent in the Lake District and I have always tried to remember how fortunate I am to have such beautiful surroundings. I have recently retired after a varied working life which I started as an accountant and finished as an activities organiser in a care home. In between these I have been a shepherd and run a craft workshop where I specialised in spinning dog hair.
I have always been interested in photography and, years ago, used to develop and print my own photos. The digital age is so much more civilised and a lot healthier as we no longer have bottles of chemicals cluttering up the kitchen! A few years ago I started tinkering with Bryce (a landscape modelling and rendering programme) which enabled me to start creating pictures I could never have hoped to paint. More recently I have been using Blender, a free but powerful modelling programme, to create detailed models which I then import into Bryce scenes. For figures I use Poser - I'm not good enough to make my own in Blender - perhaps with practice...
Some of my photos are in Heather's Photo Album and if you would like to see more or some of my attempts at 3D art please look at my Picasa gallery at http://picasaweb.google.com/stony437
